Hey guys, the holidays are just around the corner so I’m bringing to you a braided half-up, half-down hairstyle that’s great for parties, get-togethers, or any place that you’ll be taking pictures during the holidays. This hairstyle looks good from all angles so you’ll be sure to find a few good post-worthy selfies. Whether you have thin hair or thick coarse hair, they have a great selection for haircare and styling.
Step 1 – Prep your hair
If your hair is flat and lacks volume, a good tip is to start with second-day hair. This will give your hair more texture and volume. I like to use the Dove Refresh + Care invigorating Dry Shampoo before anything. Shake the aerosol can, hold it 20-25 cm away from your hair and spray the product directly onto your roots. The weightless formula absorbs oils and makes my hair look and feel refreshed between washes.
Step 2 – Protect your hair
Since I’ll be using hot tools to transform my locks from straight to wavy, I always protect my strands with the TRESemmé® Thermal Creations® Heat Tamer® Hair Spray. Spray the product on from roots to tips to guard your hair against heat and friction. Brush your hair to evenly distribute the product and it let completely dry before applying heat.
Step 3 – Transform your locks
Using your favorite curling barrel or wand, divide your hair into sections and curl each part.
Step 4 – Braid it
Pick up a chunk of hair at the top of your head, divide it into three sections and braid it. Tug on the edge of the braid to give it volume. Then pick up a another chunk of hair below the first braid and repeat the steps. Do this to both sides.
Step 5 – Bring it together
Gather all the four braids to the back of your head and tie them together.
Step 6- Spray it
To ensure that your curls stay in place without feeling crusty and hard, use the Dove Style + Care Flexible Hold Hairspray and mist it all over to strengthen your style and enhance your hair’s luminosity.
And that’s it! Now your hair is perfect and ready for the camera!
